isaac has a new game.
he has long had a dangling mouse on an elastic cord that hang in a door jamb.
he doesn't play with teh mouse as much when i am not there playing with him.
today though...

he has started to take the mouse and walk as positively far from the door jamb as he can with it.  at which point he puts his paw on it and starts to gnaw on it.
of course, it's attached with an elastic and he has no front claws.
a second or two later i invariable sense movement behind my back and a resounding thwack as the mouse shoots across the room to get lodged somewhere near the door it hangs from.

he can just about get it to the kitchen before it gets let go. that's about 15, maybe as much as 20 feet.

he then races after it at the speed of lightening and then stops dead still just under where it has lodged this time and i can tell, as he sits silently below it, staring up, that he is attempting to work out in his little head out how he is going to get it off of the chair/wall/lamp/window.

very cute.
